Poolitics

I have recently found a very fun way to get over my political jadedness. Sadly the world has come to Poolitics. Enjoy.

Auto Assault No Good

So yeah. Fun for about a week. Then it just became more of the same. Seems a lot of other people feel the same way though, all the servers were merged last Friday. All the US and European servers…into 1 server…you do the math.

Ah well, at least you didn’t waste the $50.

Car wars?

So I used to play Car Wars when you could not kill your character with a handgun. What a wonderful world. Post-Apocalyptic desert world of rampaging Mad Max’s, yet no one can suicide!

Oh and I picked up Auto Assult by NCSoft today. I have no idea what to expect.

Douglas Was Right

Mark Knopfler does have an extraordinary ability to make a Schecter Custom Stratocaster hoot and sing like angels on a Saturday night, exhausted from being good all week and needing a stiff drink. Especially the good bit which has to be after the second bridge.

and girl it looks so pretty to me like it always did
like the spanish city to me when we were kids

I know it sounds cliche and all to think it sucks that some people walk the Earth still and Douglas is gone. It has been 5 years already and I still get misty eyed when I pick up The Book. I got the leather bound 5 book set from someone I loved. She is gone now too. As I get older I have a feeling there will be many more things and places that will get me misty eyed at memories of people gone or moved on.

and the big wheel keep on turning neon burning up above
and i’m just high on the world

Mark understands. He makes that guitar wail like he has all the pain in the world on tap inside himself just waiting for a moment to let it out. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe the sound. He paints with an emotional brush across the canvas of my brain.

I hope Douglas was wrong and there is a heaven somewhere. All I want is a second to tell him I was happy when I read his books. It really makes me sad he is gone.

and in the roar of the dust and diesel i stood and watched her walk away
i could have caught up with her easy enough but something must have made me stay

6 Degrees or Less

Well I was checking my email when I got home tonight and noticed I had a new register to the site. Four years ago I lost track of my buddy kermyt. It was just one of those things, everything had been amiacable if boisterous at times. Strangely he was involved in some vanity googling today when he ran into one of my blog entries from a while back. I say strangely, because vanity is akin to ego, which was a large part of our ongoing conversation.

So he sees me mention his name in relation to a book I read once. Since there is no real contact info associated with this page he had nothing to go on. The google, it did nothing, to shed any light on who I was either. Well that is not entirely true, the google it led him to ecgn.com it did, where in my profile he found my occupation to be “gypsy jeweler".

My buddy decided I must be someone he knew from the ren fest in the way back, the long long ago. Not knowing who I was he sent a few PM’s through ecgn and registered on this site.

Meanwhile, I recognized the email address from his registration. I sent him an email stating I knew him, I had kicked his ass at axis and allies back in the Toon Town, and that he was a candy ass. He replied with a phone number. With some people the joy is in the communication. The kind of communication that goes on for years in a conversation that strays through many topics without any need for a specific destination.

While I may not be able to sufficiently argue that the Universe functions without observation and can exist a priori of perception, I would toss it out there. I think the your stance that the Universe exists because there are things inside to give it shape is a little of the old post hoc ergo propter hoc again. Ultimately I think this stance creates an ego structure, the purpose of which is to provide a system of meaning to individual choices inside a life. Since I turned off comments I win!

I would like to thank Google, Godaddy, and ECGN for their involvment in this triumphant reunion of titans.
